Laptop Exams

WMU Cooley utilizes the exam software, called Exam4.

You will need to download and install a new version of the software each term!

More information will become available on Cooley Connect and in Canvas prior to exams.

You can use your Mac laptop and your Windows laptop to write exams. Exact operating system requirements are available from Exam4.

Cautions:

• Do not upgrade your operating system after installing the exam4 software.

• Disconnect any external monitors from your laptop before starting the software.

• You must be in an admin account on your computer to install and run this software.

• You must know the admin password for the computer.

• Restart your computer and shut down any other programs before starting the exam4 software.

• Exit the exam4 software following the prompts. Do not attempt to force-quit exam4!

• Verify that your hard drive has space available to save your exams and all backup copies.

• Do not delete the software or the backup folder after your exams.

• Understand your exam instructions provided in Canvas and Cooley Connect and by the exam proctor.

Practice Using the Software:

• Accept the invitation to the exam4 Practice Course in Canvas. Detailed instructions are in the Modules.

• Download the software early and complete a practice exam.

• Practice some more!

• Become familiar with the look and feel of the writing space, the multiple choice options, and document delivery.

• Understand how to submit your exam and how to check if your submission was successful.

• Ask questions! StudentTechHelp is also on Google Chat.
